History
Vieux Château Gachet is part of a legacy that began in 1953, when the Arpin family acquired nearly 5 hectares of vineyards in Néac.
The estate is now managed by Gérard and Gaël Arpin, descendants of Jean-Baptiste Arpin, who started with just 1 hectare of land in Pomerol after returning from World War I.
Today, the family cultivates 38 hectares across renowned Bordeaux appellations, producing outstanding wines with a strong commitment to tradition and excellence.
Viticulture
Located in the Lalande de Pomerol appellation, the Vieux Château Gachet vineyards thrive on clay-silica soils, ideal for growing Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc.
The mature Cabernet Sauvignons bring structure to the blend, while the Merlot provides richness and fruit intensity. This careful selection of grape varieties ensures a wine that reflects the best of the terroir.
Winemaking
Vieux Château Gachet “Promesse” 2015 is aged in French oak barrels, allowing the wine to develop its complexity over time.
