History
Château Purcari is a leader in the production of premium wines in Moldova. It is also the most awarded winery in Central and Eastern Europe.
The estate’s history dates back to the 19th century when French settlers partnered with local monks to begin planting Bordeaux varieties here, alongside the indigenous grape varieties.
Over the years, Purcari has won hundreds of medals at international competitions such as “Effervescents du Monde”, “Decanter World Wine Awards”, “International Wine & Spirits Competition”, “Challenge International du Vin”, and many other important world wine contests.

On the nose, it reveals remarkable complexity, bursting with layers of blue and black fruits: juicy plums, blackcurrant, ripe blackberry, black cherry, mulberry, blueberry, sour cherry, and wild black raspberry. Floral notes of violet intertwine with subtle spices – black pepper, cloves – and delicate hints of leather and tobacco leaf, creating an elegant aromatic bouquet.
On the palate, this dry red wine impresses with its silky yet firm tannins. Rich and velvety in texture, it strikes a perfect balance between power and finesse. Structured, elegant, and bold, it offers a long, lingering finish with a refined, juicy mouth that makes every sip memorable.
Food pairing: an exquisite match with aged cheeses, meat dishes like pork steaks, juicy cooked veal cutlets and other grilled dishes.
