Viticulture

Moët & Chandon Réserve Impériale Brut is crafted from a harmonious blend of:

  • Pinot Noir (30-40%)
  • Pinot Meunier (30-40%)
  • Chardonnay (20-30%) grapes, sourced from vineyards across the five main Champagne regions.

With access to approximately 200 crus, including 17 grands crus and 32 premiers crus, the House ensures a diverse selection that enhances the complexity and character of this cuvée.

Winemaking

The winemaking process for Moët & Chandon Réserve Impériale Brut involves meticulous manual harvesting, ensuring only the finest grapes are selected.

Under the expert guidance of Chef de Cave Benoît Gouez, the assemblage features more than 100 different wines, with 20-30% reserve wines added to enhance depth and consistency. After gentle pressing, the must undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation, followed by aging in the cellars for 30 months to develop its signature style. With a dosage of 7-9 g/L, the Champagne achieves a perfect balance of richness and freshness.

Benoît Gouez’s dedication to craftsmanship and his keen understanding of the unique terroir of Champagne ensure that every bottle of Moët & Chandon reflects the House’s prestigious legacy and exceptional quality.

Tasting

In the glass, Moët & Chandon Réserve Impériale Brut reveals an elegant golden straw color with sparkling green highlights.

The nose is greeted with vibrant aromas of green apple, citrus fruits, and hints of brioche and fresh nuts.

On the palate, the Champagne showcases a delightful interplay of sumptuous white-fleshed fruits like pear and peach, combined with the lively zest of citrus and nuances of gooseberry. The fine bubbles caress the mouth, leading to a long, elegant finish.

Perfect as an aperitif or paired with seafood, it complements dishes such as oysters, grilled shrimp, or creamy pasta.
Best enjoyed chilled at approximately 8°C (46°F). (Serving below this temperature can mute the wine’s aromatic intensity.)
