History
Château Purcari is a leader in the production of premium wines in Moldova. It is also the most awarded winery in Central and Eastern Europe.
The estate’s heritage dates back to the 19th century when French settlers partnered with local monks to begin planting Bordeaux varieties here, alongside the indigenous grape varieties.
Over the years, Purcari has won more than 250 medals in international competitions such as “Effervescents du Monde”, “Decanter World Wine Awards”, “International Wine & Spirits Competition”, “Challenge International du Vin”, and many other important world wine contests.
Viticulture
Reasoned wine culture with respect for the environment and the natural cycles of the terroir and the vine.
Vinification
70% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 25% Saperavi, 5% Rara Neagra – indigenous Moldovan grape variety. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.
Tasting
Deep and noble purple color. Complex nose filled especially with blue and black fruits aromas: blue plum, blackcurrant, ripe blackberry, black cherry, black mulberry, blueberry, sour cherry, black raspberry, violets, black pepper, cloves, leather, and some very subtle hints of tobacco leaf.
Negru de Purcari Limited Edition is a dry, with very fine tannin wine. It feels complex, velvety and elegant. Elegant, firm and quite bold wine, it tastes supple and well structured on the mouthfeel. You will definitely enjoy its long finish and its balanced, extremely juicy aftertaste.
Perfect with noble ripened cheeses, baked deer roulade filled with figs, roulade of pheasant with chestnut purée.
Decant 30 minutes before serving at 18-20°C.
